Holistic Practice and practitioner

As a holistic practitioner I understand that the body/mind works in a systemic manner, all our functions are interrelated and there are energy patterns that connect the many different levels of being that affect our lives in any given moment. How my work is done is explained in the Philosophy and Methodology of practice sections of this site. I do this work in a gentle way, with kindness and compassion, in gratitude to the persons that every day allows me to join them in their change and transformation of their lives which at the same time transforms mine. My holistic approach considers the following interrelated aspects of a person:

Emotional - how our thoughts affect our feelings, moods and behaviors

Whole brain functioning- integration of the right and left hemisphere functioning of our brain by using expressive therapies like visual and literary arts in counseling.

Physical - the use of exercise to modify moods and behavior.

Chemical - education on how food and other substances affect our body-mind

Context for healing - use of nature and environment to heal

Multi-cultural component - person is immersed in the discourse of the person's culture and conditioning.

Transpersonal - how yoga and mindfulness practice helps us evolve to a unitary consciousness
